STORY

Jacob jokingly says that he ‘grew up sleeping under church chairs at late night services.’ And while this is a funny reality, as a pastors kid, he has seen the ins and outs, the ups and downs, of ministry from a young age. This allowed him to grow up with a deep love for the church, and the people that serve it.

Jacob has served in church since he was a toddler. He made the decision in high school to audition for his church worship team after being approached by different pastors and friends asking him if he sang, which he didn’t. He made the team and served faithfully every Sunday and Wednesday for years.

When it came time for college, he toured different Christian schools, but ultimately decided to go to SEU after a radical encounter with the Lord at one of their worship nights. Very quickly he joined SEU Worship and served faithfully as a student for 2 years. At the beginning of his junior year, he was approached by the Campus Pastor and manager of SEU Worship, inquiring if he would ever want to be apart of the artist team, and join full time staff. With an eager heart, he took the leap of faith and went fully online, moved off campus, and joined staff. He served in his role for nearly 3 years, 2 of those years still as a student. He graduated on time with a degree in Business.

Right before getting married, Jacob and Camryn started praying about what it could look like to do ministry together. Around that same time, their pastors started talking to them about a ‘hypothetically confidential’ scenario in which they could all work together, building a ministry, in a church they would plant. After weeks of prayer and fasting, the couple gave their ‘YES’ to what God would begin doing in the greater Las Vegas area.

FAMILY

Jacob and Camryn met while studying at Southeastern University. Jacob is a big planner, and coming into SEU he prayed a prayer to God, asking that if he was to meet his wife at SEU, they would meet his Junior year, date for 1 1/2 to 2 years, get engaged after graduation, and get married after that. Jacob met the love of his life the first semester of his junior year, they dated for roughly 1 1/2 years, getting engaged right before he graduated. They got married November 22 of 2024. While it is just the 2 of them for now, they dream of starting a family, which for Camryn, includes a dog. They enjoy golf, beach days, coffee dates, and steak dinners.

MINISTRY

Jacob and his wife, Camryn, are in the process of moving to Henderson, Nevada, where they have been led to join a team in planting The House Vegas. Jacob will serve as the Worship/Production Pastor of the church plant. They are currently residing in Lakeland, Florida, where Jacob will transition out of his role in helping lead SEU Worship. He leads chapel and tour teams, oversees the business, and helps students discover and steward their God-given purpose, alongside helping lead the creative and ministry vision for SEU Worship. He has had his hand in writing songs, creative vision for albums, and more.

HEART

Throughout his life, Jacob has battled with insecurities and fears. Whether it was not fitting in at school, or figuring out what he felt purposed to do, he always knew how to confide in God because he had people around him who taught him the importance of God’s presence. His heart is to do the same for everyone he comes into contact with. He desires to help people discover their God-given purpose, in God’s presence. Camryn and Jacob are in the process of launching, Purpose Ministries, a ministry aimed towards helping people discover their Ephesians 2:10 purpose in life.
